    The National Institutes of Health has mandated that beginning April 7, 2008, the NIH will “require that all investigators funded by the NIH submit, or have submitted for them to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central an electronic version of their final peer-reviewed manuscripts upon acceptance for publication, to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication…”* To assist our authors in meeting the NIH requirement, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins will transmit the accepted manuscript to PubMed Central on their behalf. Authors will be asked to indicate the funding source as part of the submission process and the identified manuscripts will be transmitted to Pub Med Central. PubMed Central will in turn work directly with the author to facilitate the rest of the submission process supporting the Public Access Policy.
