Synopsis :

• As a service to its authors, GENETICS deposits its final, published articles to PubMed Central on behalf of its US National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded authors. The NIH Public Access Policy requires “scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to the digital archive PubMed Central...To help advance science and improve human health, the Policy requires that these papers are accessible to the public on PubMed Central no later than 12 months after publication.” In support of open access, GENETICS’ published ahead of print articles are freely available within one week of acceptance. All journal content is freely available six months after publication, allowing full compliance with NIH Public Access Policy NOT-OD-08-033. No action is required of GENETICS’ authors.
