NIH Mandate Journals Information WikiThis is a featured page

NIH Mandate Journals

These information pages are provided to assist NIH funded authors with the NIH mandate.
The site is currently set up with 2 sections, Journal Policies and Publisher Policies.

In addition, the following websites also provide journal specific information concerning the NIH Mandate and open access.

The NIH Public Access Policy ensures that the public has access to the published results of NIH funded research. It requires scientists to submit journal articles that arise from NIH funds to the digital archive PubMed Central (http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/). The Policy requires that these articles be accessible to the public on PubMed Central to help advance science and improve human health.

  • The journals listed here have committed to make the final published version of every NIH-funded article publicly available in PubMed Central within 12 months of publication, without author involvement.

Sherpa/RoMEO is a database of publisher's copyright and archiving policies, complete with links to publisher and journal policy pages.
